In this paper，the development of BPR was analyzed and demonstrated from internal work process redesigning，organization reconfiguration to outer business proces networks reengineering，from superficial operation rebuilding to system ．constitution rethinking，and to firm’s culture and competence reconstruction．The objectives，contents，ranges，approach，means and effectivenes of BPR were studied．
