Abstract:This paper further investigates the impacts caused by travel information systems on traffic behavior through extending the authors’previous work to a general urban transportation network with parallel routes. The stochastic and deterministic user2equilibrium assignment models are used to carry out the analyses , i . e. , computing the changes of average travel costs before and after the introduction of the information system. We also study how the parameter of the logit-based stochastic model affect the average individual travel cost , and how the information sys2 tem induce potential traffic demand.
