    Abstract:

    This paper studies the mode choice problem in a transportation system that comprises a subway parallel to a bottleneck-constrained highway between a residential area and a work place. People can get their destination by either auto or transit mode only; besides these two modes, they can adopt the third one, i. e., firstly drive their cars to the bottleneck, park there and then take the subway to destination.
