    • Division of specialization and industrial dusters

      2006, 9(6).

      Abstract (572) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (2944) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The Comparative Advantage Theory of David Ricardo is constructed on a series of assumptions including perfect competition and constant returns to scale. Under these assumptions, division of labor should be on the basis of Comparative Advantage Theory. Agglomeration derives from such basic conditions as increasing returns to scale, trade costs, flow of productive factors and imperfect competition. When agglomeration effect is taken into consideration, the comparative advantage cannot fully determine the division of labor and the trade pattern of a country or a region, while He agglomeration advantage can decide the industrial layout and division of labor, which provides a new explanation to Leontief Paradox in the traditional international trade theory. The fact that manufacture concentrates in East China indicates that in a country, agglomeration advantages play a more important role than comparative advantages. Accordingly, wheather in western development or in Northeastern reviving movement, development of industries can' t depend on comparative advantages. Instead, we should focus on improving factor productivity and fostering agglomeration advantages

    • Study on pricing strategy choice of firms with network externality

      2006, 9(6).

      Abstract (541) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (3676) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Based on the Hotelling model with endogenous pricing strategy, this paper analyzes the pricing strategy choice of firms with network externality in the game of duopoly setting. Firms can choose uniform pricing or discriminatory pricing. The results show that firms choose either uniform pricing or discriminatory pricing when the network effect does not exist. However, when the network effect exists, the equilibrium condition of discriminatory pricing is relaxed. Discriminatory pricing has a cost advantage. As a result, firms prefer discriminatory pricing. Meanwhile, if the consumers pay more attention to the product' s characters, more firms will choose discriminatory pricing

    • International goods trade and indeterminacy in a Ramsey growth model

      2006, 9(6).

      Abstract (279) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (1612) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:This paper considers agents' preference diversification and incorporates international goods trade into the Ramsey growth model of open economy. Agents not only consume domestic goods, but also import foreign goods for consumption. A sufficient condition is presented for the economy to exhibit the growth indeterminacy. If there exist the mild sector-specific externalities in the non-tradable sector and moreover the overall level of externalities in this sector is more than that of tradable goods sector, then the economic growth may own a continuum of trajectories converging to the sole balanced growth path (BGP) so that the economy exhibits local indeterminacy. In the meantime the economic calibrate with feasible parameter values is implemented and simulation results illustrate theoretical findings

    • Comprehensive importance measurement for nodes within a node-weighted network

      2006, 9(6).

      Abstract (1352) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (4289) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Agent importance in many real each node within a node-weighted network world systems is constructed as After the factors of an effective the model of importance measurement for importance measurement for a node within a node-weighted network are analyzed, the comprehensive inlportanee measure (CIM) for a node in a nodeweighed network based on the approach of deleting node is nlodeled. And with the help of the procedure of calculating the distances among nodes on a graph, a new algorithm for this model is designed. Finally, an example is given for illustrating the application of CIM in knowledge sharing network

    • Investment performance of momentum strategies and contrarian strategies in China stock mar

      2006, 9(6).

      Abstract (504) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (2955) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:This paper mainly investigates whether the momentum strategies and contrarian strategies can create significant profits under different formation horizons and holding horizons, whether past factors (such as market return, characteristic of individual stock) can provide an important implication about the profits of momentum and contrarian strategies. As a whole, we find the momentum strategies less than 24 weeks are more. successful , the contrarian strategies beyond 24 weeks can earn significant profits in China stock market. We also find, considering market factor (market return, cross-sectional variance of equity returns) and characteristic of individual stock (trading volume, firm size, price/earnings, BE/ME), there exist clearer and more significant modes of profitability in momentum or contrarian strategies

    • What affects investors' selling and holding?

      2006, 9(6).

      Abstract (318) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (1831) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:This paper studies what affects Chinese investors' selecting between selling and holding decisions by using three years' trading data from a large broker. The results show that whether investors are profiting or losing influences their inclination to sell or hold significantly. Excluding the interaction between the capital loss dummy and other variables, investors with relatively less capital and losing within medium-range are reluctant to realize losses. While those with more capital and losing heavily would tend to sell out. Stocks' re.cent price and volatility, market' s historical change and volatility do affect investors' deciding of selling or holding. Compared to the findings of Grinblatt and Keloharju (2001), this research studies the influences of stock' s historical change of trading volume, important policies and events, the vo factors have different impacts on investor's latility of market on investors for the first time. Findings show that these trading decision for investors with varying cap

    • Effects of knowledge traits and mechanism transnational corporations: An empirical study

      2006, 9(6).

      Abstract (516) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (3841) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:The author constructs a model tO test the effects of knowledge traits and mechanism to knowledge transfer within transnational corporations(TNCs), in which the ‘tacit’, ‘simple-embedded’, ‘network-embedded’ and ‘transfer mechanism’ are supposed to influence knowledge transfer, and ‘transfer mechanism’ can be a mediator between knowledge traits and success knowledge transfer. After empirical testing, the direct effect of ‘tacit’, ‘simple-embedded’, ‘elementary mechanism’ and the mediator effect of ‘secondary mechanism’ are proved in the process of knowledge transfer within TNCs

    • Personal relations, institutionalization, and control mechanisms in alliance: Evidence from Chinese firms' cooperation practice

      2006, 9(6).

      Abstract (465) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (1825) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Effective alliance control is critical to realize the potential of strategic alliance. Based on social exchange and institution theory, the study suggests personal relation and institutionalization are two critical determinants of control mechanisms in alliance. Especially, the impact of these two determinants is contingent on the developing stage of cooperation. With a survey about 365 inter-Chinese-finn alliances, we test the hypotheses. The theoretical and practical implication is discussed at the end of the paper

      2006, 9(6).

      Abstract (567) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (2122) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:In the article we explain, by evolutionary games theory, management patterns which stakeholders share enterprise management. The research shows the difference of system initial states results in differences in management patterns. At last, the paper brings forward two eventual evolution paths that stakeholders participate in games

    • Chinese traditional culture impacted person-organization fit resea

      2006, 9(6).

      Abstract (919) HTML (0) PDF 0.00 Byte (6140) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Person-organization fit became the focus of the organization culture research. Many researchers found that the higher the person-organization fit, the more organizational commitment and job satisfaction, the more trust towards management the employees have. The Chinese traditional culture affected employees' values deeply. So we explored the Chinese Person-organization fit questionnaire. Through exploratory factor analysis(EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis(CFA), the results showed that the P-O fits are composed of eight dimensions that are named customer orientation, society responsibility, innovation, seeking success from changing, striving for the excellence, pragmatism, balance, harmony and righteousness. The P-O fit of deferent dimension had significant power on forecasting organizational commitment, job satisfaction, organization citizen behavior and turnover intention. The study also found that the questionnaire had suitable reliability and high validity
