Purpose of the Journal
The Journal aims to present academic research results related to the fundamental theories, methodologies, and applications in management science, as well as applied research findings that have achieved social or economic benefits. It is an academic journal dedicated to management science research in China. Manuscripts must not have been published in other publicly issued journals or formally published conference proceedings.
Target Audience
The Journal is intended for management science researchers and practitioners, management engineering professionals, managers across various industries, sectors, and enterprises, as well as faculty and students of management science and economic management institutions.
Submission Guidelines
Since March 2012, the Journal has implemented an online submission, editing, and peer review system. All submissions must be made through this system. Authors should register for an author account on the Journal of Management Science website (http://jmsc.tju.edu.cn) to submit their manuscripts. The Journal no longer accepts paper submissions.
Manuscripts should be innovative in thought, clear in viewpoint, and reliable in data, without revealing any state secrets.
Manuscripts must be written in standard simplified Chinese characters in horizontal layout, with clear text, properly used punctuation, complete sentences, coherent paragraphs, and good readability. The total length of the manuscript should not exceed 8,000 words (valuable review articles may be extended to 12,000 words, including figures and tables).
Manuscripts should be uploaded in Word or PDF format. Figures, tables, formulas, symbols, superscripts, subscripts, and foreign letters should meet standard specifications.
Independent mathematical formulas within the text should be sequentially numbered. Tables should have complete numbering, titles, and filled columns without abbreviation.
The format for the main text should be: (in Chinese) Title → Author's Name → Affiliation → Abstract → Keywords (3-8) → 1 Introduction (Level 1 Heading) → Content (1.1 (Level 2 Heading)..., 1.2...) → Conclusion → References → (in English) Title → Author's Name → Affiliation → Abstract → Keywords → Appendix. Short articles within 3,000 words are exempt from this format; abstracts should not exceed 300 words.
References cited should be limited to publicly published works, listed in the order of their appearance in the text. Citations in the text should be numbered [1], [2], etc. Reference formats should follow those in previously published articles of the Journal.
Submissions should include the author's real name, affiliation, position, title, and contact information.
If the research work is supported by a provincial or higher-level fund project, please indicate the fund's name and project number.
Upon acceptance, the author will receive compensation and two copies of the issue containing their article.
Policy on the Use of Generative AI Tools
This journal permits authors to appropriately use generative AI tools during the manuscript preparation process for purposes such as literature organization, language refinement, and other auxiliary tasks. However, the core scholarly contributions, including theoretical development, research design, analysis, and conclusions, must be independently produced by the authors. Generative AI tools must not replace authors’ original thinking or intellectual contributions.
Authors using generative AI tools should adhere to the following principles:
Accuracy and Verification
Authors must carefully review and verify all AI-generated content, including data, interpretations, and references, to ensure accuracy, reliability, and completeness.
Author Responsibility
The manuscript’s academic analysis, research design, interpretation of results, and conclusions must reflect the authors’ own original thinking. AI tools may be used only as supportive aids, and authors bear full responsibility for the final content of the manuscript.
Disclosure Requirement
If generative AI tools are used extensively or provide substantial assistance in manuscript preparation, authors must include a dedicated section titled “Declaration of Generative AI Use” at the end of the manuscript, specifying the tools used, their purposes, and how they were applied.
Example:
During the preparation of this manuscript, the authors used [name of tool] to assist with [purpose]. The authors reviewed and edited all AI-generated content as necessary and take full responsibility for the final content of the manuscript.
Additional Notes
Generative AI tools must not be listed as authors or co-authors. Authors must comply with applicable requirements related to data privacy, copyright, and intellectual property when using AI tools. The use of basic tools for grammar checking, spelling, or reference management does not require disclosure.
This journal will continue to review and update this policy in accordance with technological developments and evolving scholarly standards.
Editorial Requirements
To promote the rapid development and extensive practical application of management science, and to facilitate discussion and exchange among peers, the Journal includes author biographies as footnotes on the first page of each paper. Submissions should include detailed contact information, postal code, phone number, and, if the author wishes, additional details such as research direction, position, title, and educational background, limited to 100 words.
